Memorial Prayer

MEMORIAL PRAYER – The citizens of Oklahoma City are no strangers to the pain of disaster and loss. In 1995, an explosion rocked the city, and shaped the future of the people.

On the site where the federal building once stood, is a memorial to the 168 people who lost their lives. Across the street is First Church. Their original building was so badly damaged by the blast, that they had to completely rebuild.

People gathered and prayed for America, then later made their way across the street to pray for the city, and for the survivors of the bombing. The memorial features a large pond like area that is designed to reflect light. One person who prayed, made a comment that in the midst of despair, people are attracted to, and comforted by light and water.

In a lost and dying world, full of disaster and despair, people are attracted to The Light, Jesus, where they will receive the ‘Living Water’ that only He can provide!

Amen! May Jesus Christ himself and God our Father who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. 2 Thess.2:16-17
